The Electoral Commission of Namibia confirmed that President Hifikepunye Pohamba has been re-elected for a second term after scoring 75.25% of the presidential vote. The SWAPO-Party retained its two-thirds majority in parliament, garnering 74.29% of the National Assembly elections. The Rally for Democracy and Progress (RDP) becomes the new opposition. All international election observers described the Namibian elections as having taken place in a free, fair and transparent manner.
